Index Research Associate (1029-3)
Global provider of investment decision support tools seeks an Index Research
Associate for a unique role offering the opportunity to be part of a pioneer
effort in the field of benchmarking and market index development.
Work closely with Product Management to manipulate/analyze large data sets
and develop new products through methodology research/application/back-
Lead various operational aspects of data/analytics products including
creation of indexes/data management/technical documents/marketing materials
Research/develop private capital index calculation methodologies
Assist with research/development of other Data & Analytics products such as
performance attribution/risk management/cash flow models
Verify data/models/methodologies and various calculations
Conduct market consultations to validate new products/methodologies
Provide Sales/Client Service support in situations requiring product
Develop/maintain a deep understanding of the private capital markets,
including performance measurement/benchmarking/methodologies/key players
Participate in ad-hoc projects of strategic importance to the firm
4+ years of experience in a quantitative financial role, preferably in an
index methodology/calculation area
Master?s degree from leading institution with strong GPA and track record of
Exceptional analytical/communication skills; technical skills and
ability/interest to learn new technologies
Expert knowledge of Excel/PowerPoint
Prior exposure to VBA/SQL/R/MATLAB/etc.
Experience working for index provider such as MSCI/S&P/Russell or similar
CAIA and/or CFA charter holder with private equity knowledge preferred
Coursework in financial mathematics/statistics/engineering/quantitative
Highly motivated quick learner able to work independently preferred
