Description:
SUMMARY:
Our client is a rapidly growing national investment advisory firm with over
$800 million in assets under management. They are seeking an Outside
Salesperson for their Retirement Plan Services division. This position will
identify and cultivate new prospects in their territory and effectively
close sales with the support of a leading financial planning team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement sales strategies to open new accounts
Prospect for new business opportunities among medium to large firms with
existing 401(k) employee retirement plans with approximately 10M-100M in AUM
Reach or exceed assigned sales goals
Pre-qualify prospective target companies and solicit RFPs (requests for
proposals)
Build sales network in person and via phone with key decision makers at
target firms
Conduct sales presentations with retirement plan committees and decision
makers at target firms
Collaborate with team of retirement plan analysts to develop and improve
general marketing materials, company-specific proposals, sales
presentations, and company-specific IPSs (Investment Policy Statements)
Work with retirement plan team to develop and improve general marketing
materials, company-specific proposals, and sales presentations
Establish and maintain good customer relations
Conduct installation appointments to introduce team of retirement plan
professionals
Work with retirement plan team to develop and improve marketing material and
sales presentations
Organize marketing and educational events

REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of outside business-to-business sales experience
(demonstrated effectiveness in prospecting, selling and presentation skills,
and closing new business)
5-10 years of sales experience preferred
Prior experience in qualified plan sales preferred
Goal oriented and ambitious, with capacity and drive to reach and exceed
quotas
Familiarity with the concepts of investment fiduciary and ERISA fiduciary
liability
Ability to work independently and with a team
Familiarity with design, legal requirements, and functions in maintaining
qualified employee retirement plans
Mature, self-confident, assertive, positive and persistent style
Superior interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal
communication ability
Organized with effective time management skills
Can quickly acquire product knowledge and to adapt to new concepts and
situations
Strong work ethic and capacity to work under pressure
Committed to building a career path
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with
the ability to adapt to new systems quickly and efficiently
Progress toward MBA or other industry accreditations preferred (CFP, CFA,
CEBS, IAF, IAFA, QPA, QKA, QPFC, CPWA, CIMA, etc.)
