Description:
Summary:
The Financial Plan Design Specialist will use specialized knowledge/skill
obtained through experience, specialized training or certification to serve
as a resource to Financial Advisors and clients regarding overall financial
planning issues. This may include portfolio design/retirement
planning/qualified retirement plans/risk management/estate
planning/education funding and business succession planning.

Responsibilities:
Serve as a resource for Financial Advisors in designing a tailored financial
analysis/comprehensive financial plan
Review portfolio design/recommendations
Evaluate overall individual/employer‐based retirement needs; research
options to provide planning alternatives Research/provide recommendations
related to risk management concerns, including insurance Provide guidance on
estate/ business/retirement/asset protection/legacy planning options and
techniques Review/summarize all current client legal documents such as
wills/trusts/buy‐sell agreements/etc.
Conduct research as needed related to assigned client cases; request
guidance when necessary Create planning alternatives using
proprietary/third‐party software packages Prepare presentations that clearly
communicate recommendations/alternatives related to client financial
analysis/plan design Coordinate planning recommendations with investment
advisor/insurance department/product providers Follow up on outcome of
client meetings/planning opportunities Participate in monthly management
meeting for reporting of department‐related issues/updates
Oversee and train department administrative support
Update master financial plan documents
Assist in the training of firm?s financial planning process with new
advisors Stay apprised of market trends/tax law changes/planning
opportunities and communicate to advisors at appropriate firm meetings
Provide oversight/quality control of planning presentation materials used by
advisors Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree required; Master?s degree or related professional
certification a plus 3‐5 years? experience in the
financial/retirement/estate planning/related field Certified Financial
Planner (CFP) designation or ability to obtain certification within 2 to 5
years of employment
Working knowledge or economic/accounting principles and practices, financial
markets, investment and insurance‐based products Working knowledge of
concepts/regulations related to financial planning as well as relevant
technology/software planning tools/presentations Proficiency with Microsoft
Office Suite to producer presentations and maintain spreadsheets/databases
