Audit & Accounting Director (Partner-track) (1125-1)

Atlanta, GA

Our client is a full-service certified public accounting firm looking to
expand their Atlanta office. They offer traditional services in accounting,
auditing and taxation as well as consulting services. The A&A Director is
the liaison between Partners and Managers, Internal Staff and Clients and
supports the firm?s goals/values through all professional communications and
maintenance of positive working relationships. The position is responsible
for the efficient, accurate, complete and timely preparation of all audit
and accounting engagements. Advanced technical skills in all authoritative
accounting and auditing standards, along with well-developed and applied
management and supervisory skills are required.

Responsible for overseeing client relationships, which would include
managing multiple engagements simultaneously, monitors the timeliness and
effectiveness of the delivery of services provided by the firm, proactively
and effectively identifies clients? needs, and develops a relationship with
key client personnel and provides valuable ideas on an ongoing basis
Performs higher level A&A engagements and expands ability to perform or
supervise new types of engagements
Demonstrates excellent project management skills, inspires teamwork and
responsibility with engagement team members, and uses current technology and
tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and service
Prepares invoices to clients, communicates details of fees to clients, and
assumes responsibility for fee collections
Responsible for all phases of audit, review, compilations or other
accounting engagements. Plans, supervises, reviews and controls A&A
engagements of all sizes and complexities for compliance with all
professional and firm standards; this includes supervising time budget
development and fee recommendations, working with internal staff and clients
to plan engagement objectives and strategies
Continues to develop a specific area of technical expertise or concentration
in servicing a segment of clients
Organizes and leads periodic meetings during busy season with Partners,
Managers and Staff
Manages the A&A staff, including their career development, training and
professional development, productivity and performance
Evaluates the performance of the A&A staff and provides verbal and/or
written feedback regularly
Provides on-the-job training; review work papers and reports prepared by
Maintains a knowledge of general economic conditions, political trends and
legislative initiatives for their effect on clients
Prepares other reports and projects as requested from time to time by the
Researches and evaluates tax preparation and research software for
recommendation to the Partners
Develops along with the Partners and Managers the team?s business plan goals
for the year
Attends the Partner Development Program or other similar executive
leadership programs
Participates with Partners in marketing efforts, including proposal
development and prospect calls
Actively participates in firm?s practice development efforts through
involvement with referral sources, community and industry activities
Coordinates day to day management of department and reports frequently back
to the partners for support and direction
Has developed an understanding of the economics of the Tax business and its
relation to the firm
Participates in other administrative activities or other duties as requested
by the Partners
Actively participates in community involvement including leadership roles on
boards and/or service organizations

Bachelor?s degree in business administration, accounting, or similar
10-15 years? experience, preferably in a public accounting firm setting
CPA required
Prior management experience preferred
Dedicated team member with advanced written and oral communication skills
