Operations Manager - Compensation Administration (1200-202)

Chicago (Loop)

Industry-leading life insurance/annuity provider seeks experienced
compensation administration professional to manage field compensation
operations, including compensation adjustments, manager subsidy programs,
1099 reporting, garnishments, and other programs. Will oversee a team of
four and report to the Director, Field Compensation.

Provide leadership and hands-on team management including staffing,
performance management/assessment, professional development, workflow
coordination, conflict resolution, etc.
Lead continuous process improvement to meet evolving business needs
Provide oversight for on-time completion, agent 1099 reporting,
garnishments, manual adjustments, journal entries, etc.
Communicate with field when issues arise and manage necessary corrections
Research/respond to internal inquiries (NBO/Legal/Internal Audit)
Facilitate field compensation training webinars as needed
Revamp existing processes for efficiency and accuracy
Develop a cross training plan for the team; audit team process
documents/workflow diagrams
Manage ancillary compensation elements as required (manually calculated
outside of compensation system)

BA / BS in Business, Finance, Social Sciences (quantitative discipline) or
related; MBA a plus
3+ years of compensation administration experience, preferably in Insurance,
Financial Services or consulting
LOMA / AHIP or HIA certification a plus
Solid understanding of field compensation components
Demonstrable hands-on proficiency with compensation system and other
resources to troubleshoot complex inquiries
Ability to deploy personnel across initiatives/priorities; strong problem-
solving skills; analytical thinker; well-organized; able to juggle projects
while meeting deadlines; able to assess business needs/priorities
