Compensation commensurate with experience

The Senior Tax Accountant will support the Tax Director in
preparation/review of returns for State/Federal income tax compliance,
research/respond to notices, correspond with taxing agencies, process
returns and handle payments, as well as assist in the review of a large
portfolio of partnership returns that primarily hold investments in real

Tax return review--check for overall accuracy
Review all book-tax differences on Schedule M-1/M-3
Compare return to internal model and ensure balances roll from year to year;
confirm tax credits match expectations; identify extraordinary transactions
Prepare state apportionment schedules for all investment funds
Interact with analysts as needed to ensure internal model is updated
Check accuracy of tax capital balance per K-1s/model/work papers
Review minimum gain analyses for accuracy and compare to model
Review special allocations if applicable (non-pro rata allocations)
Identify extraordinary transactions such as capital gains/losses and
cancellation of debt income
File/sort/collate/fax/photocopy/scan documents
Prepare/review State and Federal tax extensions
Keep abreast of current developments in tax arena
Thorough understanding of financial statements/partnership agreements
Other tax projects/job duties as assigned/requested

Bachelor’s degree (accounting/tax preferred) or combination of 2-4 years’
related experience/training/education
5+ years experience preparing annual state/federal tax returns for
partnerships/LLCs preferred
Experience working for a Big 4 public accounting firm or combination of
public accounting/industry experience
Ability to read/analyze/interpret business documents/agreements/financial
documents/governmental regulations
Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and
interpret various written/oral/diagram/schedule instructions
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and tax software knowledge
Attention to detail and accuracy
